Sacred Geometry Series
Shoma: The art that Sunny and I create is a collaboration. The magic happens when we both feel a moment of inspiration, whether it’s a pattern or just the feeling of a piece. This symbol represents the spark that inspires the art and brings us together. We want to share that same spark with everyone who’s on this journey, because it’s not just in us. It’s the same spark in you which the paintings are meant to be recognized from. Then you can see yourself in our paintings and our paintings in you!
Sunny: I used to live almost entirely in my head. Everything felt very black and white, and I was always trying to organize my life by putting things into boxes. I started with psychology, trying to box the people around me so I could make sense of the chaos. That turned inward pretty soon. I had rules for who I needed to be. I had to be good. I had to be spiritual. I had to be disciplined. I had to be loving. And if I slipped even a little, if I reacted in a way I shouldn’t have or missed a workout, it felt like I had failed myself and all my ancestors. Then Sophia helped me see that:
I’m in all the boxes
And there are no good or bad boxes here. Just boxes with different shapes and colors and each one matters. The whole wouldn’t exist without every single piece.
