New Earth Series
Shoma: This painting represents the formless divine consciousness, and our New Earth Series is born from this Big Bang. This is the first 60 x 60 piece that Sunny and I are creating together, and it feels significant on many levels. I’ve always been more comfortable working on smaller paintings, but Suneet has been gently (and not so gently) pushing me to step into something bigger. For a long time, I didn’t feel ready but now I do. This painting feels like expansion, trust, and surrender all at once.
Sunny: The last time I painted anything was in art class when I was eleven. I was never an artistic kid. I watched my friends create beautiful work and I didn’t relate at all. Art felt like a talent other people were born with like you either knew how to do it or not. So, the fact that my first real painting is a 60 x 60 canvas is thoroughly confusing. Intimidating, exciting, but confusing. I still don’t fully understand how I ended up here. That’s why the Big Bang feels like the perfect place for me to begin. Out of nowhere came a single explosive moment and the universe started its journey. And here I am, also out of nowhere, starting mine.
