Shoma: One random day, I came across a picture of Kuan Yin on my feed. I didn’t know who she was, I was literally just scrolling, saw her, and cried for hours. I googled her, trying to make sense of why I was feeling so much, and when I read that she was the goddess of compassion, it clicked. Of course I was bawling, she was showing me pure love.

Sunny: Growing up I always heard stories about how being selfless was the correct thing to do but I never gave it much thought. Now I see how hard it is to drop all the right and wrong judgements and just be there for someone else. That’s why Kuan Yin’s story hits different. Her dad made her life miserable. He never supported her or gave her any love or peace. But when he got sick, she literally gave him her eyes and her arms to save him. That kind of love is on a different level. I think about her when I get into it with my parents, and she lightens my load.
