Shoma: I used to wake up and have anxiety attacks in the middle of the night. That’s when I started chanting the Hanuman Chalisa, and it makes me feel safe instantly. There’s a line in the Hanuman chalisa “Sankat kate mite sab peera” that means ‘one is free from all the sufferings and unlucky possibilities of rebirths in the world’. That was the line that helped me surrender to the safety of Hanuman.
Sunny: Neem Karoli Baba (Ram Dass’s Guru) is my role model and an incarnation of Hanuman. He taught me that true power is dissolving fear through unconditional love. Ram Dass said that he had never felt more loved and never felt more loving than when he was in his presence. Neem Karoli Baba brought Helina (my soul sister) and I together. Hanuman lives to serve God and I’d love to do the same. I don’t have words to express the deep gratitude I have for Hanuman in this life and all the others.
